Rob Huberty teammates kept congratulating him two weeks ago, but Duluth Minnesota outside linebacker is a little confused.
Huberty had first team Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for the second successive year, but he was never one to make a lot of individual achievement. He just goes about his work in a nimble fashion.
Huberty, senior Captain of Lena, Wis., does its job pretty well last week, with the team-high nine tackles Bulldogs ' 24-21 victory over top-ranked Colorado State-Pueblo. This week will be another challenge as Wayne State (Mich.) came into the NCAA Division II quarterfinal Saturday for an average of 37 points and 406 yards per contest, including 213 on the ground.
"To hold a team that has had scored 30 or 40 points a game is quite an accomplishment, 21" Huberty said, with seven people
21 points coming on UMD turnover offensive. "We knew the team would like to control the Pueblo games through their rushing attack. They have been quite successful with all year long, but every week we came up with a game plan to eliminate the other team's running game and made them one-dimensional. "
